Yoki - welcome to the world

Yoki (Native American for rain) was born today on our farm. After an exciting morning of tipi painting, and an afternoon checking on the herd, I was greeted by little Yoki in the barn, with her mama right beside her.

I put them in my small paddock so they could bond -- and Yoki was nursing well from her mama, Piper, in short order.

This is 4 girls in a row for me. How sweet is that?

Sweet.

  1. This is such a sweet picture. It has to be such an amazing thing to see a cria being born... or even to come home to find a cria *just* born.

I connected with you via email a few times when you were coordinating for SELR. My goal is to get some property and have a few llamas, whether rescue or my own. We are in Central Illinois and currently looking for property!!

I love that you have this blog now. I enjoy all your posts and pictures. Thank you so much for that!
