Such a day yesterday. One of the KY rescue llamas has been spiralling downward for weeks. She came to me so debilitated that her chance for survival has been guarded, at best.
She gave up the fight yesterday. It was very sad.
And then, as life teaches us, a silver lining. My Akira, a Peruvian alpaca female, birthed a stunning female cria. She has been named "Eagle Eye" -- by the family that has already chosen to buy her.
She will head to her new home with her mama -- and once weaned, Akira will come back to my farm.
A death and a life in one day.
